OUCH!

The glorious beach experience two days ago has now turned into pain. Even after using plenty of suntan lotion, I am still burned. OUCH!

Thankfully, tea is a more than just a great drink. Now this probably can’t be backed by scientific fact, but according to Grammy, tea can help soothe a sunburn.

Here’s what she recommended trying:

Brew a strong pot of black tea. Allow the tea to cool by either adding ice to the tea or by putting the tea in the refrigerator. You can do both, if you want. ONCE THE TEA IS COOL, there are a couple of ways to apply it to your sunburn.

1. Put the cold tea in a spray bottle and spray it directly on the burned areas. You may want to do this outside or in the bath tub to cut down on the mess.

OR

2. Soak a clean, old hand towel or tea towel in the cold tea and apply the towel to the burned areas. Use a towel that you don’t mind getting stained. You can leave it on for 10-15 minutes.

Grammy says you can repeat either of these treatments three or four times a day. And don’t be surprised if your redness turns into a nice shade of English Breakfast! Hummm….I wonder if that’s how the spray-on tan was invented?
